An Investigation of the Relationship between EFL Young Learners' Intrapersonal Intelligence and their Oral Performance

ABSTRACT

The present study aimed at investigating the relationship between intrapersonal intelligence and oral performance of EFL young learners. The participants of the study were 60 pupils enrolled in grade 7 in the first year preparatory in the second semester of the academic year 2022\2023 at a public school in Fayoum. The participants were randomly selected ,,then they responded to an oral test and an intrapersonal intelligence scale designed by the researcher. Findings of the study indicated that there is a positive correlation between oral performance and intrapersonal intelligence and that they are interrelated.Some previous studies assured the importance of intrapersonal intelligence and oral performance inside the EFL Classrooms .The researcher confirmed the validity of the results of this study using these studies. According to the reached findings, some recommendations for further research were suggested and some pedagogical implications which might assist EFL teachers during teaching oral performance for preparatory school students were provided.
