A proposed program based on the use of interactive electronic stories for developing primary school students’ language fluency and imaginative thinking skills
Abstract:
The current research aimed at building a proposed program based on using interactive electronic stories for developing language fluency and imaginative thinking skills for primary sixth graders. The research problem was identified in: the low level of primary school students in some creative abilities, especially language fluency and imaginative thinking skills, which requires the development of these capabilities through employing effective modern technological methods such as electronic stories. The research has relied on both the analytical descriptive approach in surveying previous studies, presenting the theoretical framework, as well as in preparing the research tools, and the experimental approach in conducting the experiment. The experiment was conducted on a research group that consisted of (25) students at the sixth grade of primary school. In addition, in order to reach a solution to the research problem, a number of steps were followed, perhaps the most important of which are: preparing a list of language fluency skills, and another with the appropriate imaginative thinking skills for the sixth graders. The foundations for building the proposed program based on the use of interactive electronic stories were also identified, in addition to identifying its components. The measurement tools were prepared to measure the effectiveness of the program, which included a language fluency skills test, and an imaginative thinking skills test. The two research tools were pre-administered to the research group, then teaching the program based on the use of interactive electronic stories was implemented, then the two tools were re-administered to the research group after treatment. The results were reached and processed statistically. By calculating the adjusted earnings percentage for Black and its significance, the results confirmed that the proposed program based on the use of interactive electronic stories is highly effective in developing language fluency and imaginative thinking skills for the research group six grader students. Accordingly, the research presented a set of recommendations and suggestions for upcoming research based on the results.
