The study aimed to identify the difference in social anxiety and its dimensions among children residing in residential institutions according to some variables (gender, type of residence, age, academic level). The study sample consisted of (35) male and female children, aged between (9-13) years. The study relied on the descriptive comparative method, the social anxiety scale (prepared by the researcher). The results showed: (1) there were no differences in the overall degree of social anxiety and its dimensions between males and females. (2) There are differences in the total degree of social anxiety and the cognitive dimension in the direction of the partial residency type, and there are no differences in emotional and behavioral dimensions according to the type of residence. (3) There are no differences in the overall degree of social anxiety and its dimensions according to age. (4) There are no differences in the total degree of social anxiety and its dimensions according to the academic level.
