Marital Satisfaction and its Relationship with Mental Health Among Employees at Tafila TechnicalUniversity
Abstract
The present study aimed to identify marital satisfaction and its relationship to mental health among workers at Tafila Technical University. The sample of the study consisted of (334) male and female employees, who were chosen by a simple random method. The results of the study indicated that the level of marital satisfaction and mental health was average, and there was a direct statistically significant relationship between marital satisfaction and mental health, and the highest strength of correlation between the dimension of problems and the dimension of physical symptoms, and there were no statistically significant differences in marital satisfaction and mental health when Significance level (0.05) attributed to the variables of sex, educational qualification, and marriage years, while there were statistically significant differences in mental health at a significance level (0.05) attributed to the number of children in favor of the group (1-3, 7 and more). The study recommended holding awareness sessions for those about to marry, concerned with marital relations and marital skills, which would positively affect the psychological health of spouses and family members, conducting more studies in the field of marital and family life, and employing specialists in marital and family counseling at Sharia courts, universities and relevant authorities.
