Abstract:
The current research aims to identify the correlation relationship between death anxiety and ego strength in university students who are suspected of being infected with the corona virus, as well as to know the nature of the differences between males and females university students in the death anxiety, as well as to know the differences between those with a scientific specialty, and those with a literary specialty from university students in death anxiety. The research also aims to know the differences in death anxiety among university students according to: marital status (single - married), socio-economic and cultural level (high – low). In addition to knowing the predictability of death anxiety through ego strength. The research sample consists of (120) male and female postgraduate students at Benha University (Faculties: Arts - Science – Education - Nursing), whose ages range from (23-29) years old, with an average age of (24.758) years, and a standard deviation (1.328). The researcher uses the death anxiety scale for university students (prepared by researcher), the scale of ego strength (prepared by researcher), and the scale of the socio-economic and cultural level (prepared by Hamdan Fadda, 1997). The results of the research show that there is a negative significant correlation relationship between the scores of university post graduate students who are suspected of being infected with the corona virus on death anxiety scale with its dimensions and their scores on ego strength scale (total score), and there are no significant statistically differences between males and females students on death anxiety scale with its dimensions, as well as, there are no significant statistically differences between those with a scientific specialty, and those with a literary specialty from university students on death anxiety scale. Also, there are no significant statistically differences between those who are high in the socio-economic and cultural level, and those who are low in the socio-economic and cultural level on death anxiety scale, but there are a significant statistically differences between singles and married from university students on death anxiety scale in favor of married. The results of the research also show that death anxiety can be predicted (total score) through ego strength (total score).
