A Proposed Program Based onthe Integration of Epidemiology and Medical Sociology for Developing Awareness of Epidemic and Pandemic Diseases and Community Participation Values among College of Education Students

Abstract
The research aimed at measuring the effectiveness of a proposed program based on the integration of epidemiology and medical sociology in developing awareness of epidemic and pandemic diseases and community participation values among college of education students. The descriptive approach was used to present the theoretical framework and build the research tools; as well as the quasi-experimental method which was utilized for the experimentation.The research experimental design involved one group of (78) third year male and female students at the College of Education, Fayoum University, belonging to the following majors:biology (basic)/geology, philosophy (basic)/sociology, sociology (basic)/philosophy, psychology) . Through the implementation of the study tools namely; the students’ book of the proposed program, the teacher's guide, the awareness scale of epidemic and pandemic diseases and community participation values scale,the research could implement the study and collect the needed data .
The study results clarified the effectiveness of the proposed program in developing the students’ awareness of epidemic and pandemic diseases and enhancing their valuesof community participation. A positive correlation between developing awareness of epidemic and pandemic diseases and the values of community participation was also proven.
